Level Two: Professional Aromatherapy Certification

Holistic View of Aromatherapy in Practice

This is the only course in which students are encouraged to take a holistic view of aromatherapy, studying not only the oils themselves, but also make practice in our laboratory.  This is vital in truly understanding value of aromatherapeutics and aromatherapy products and deepens the students’ respect for the art of working with pure essential oils.

Description

You will study over 300 essential oils and be able to use at least 75 with ease.  You will learn the therapeutic use of essential oils by application, inhalation and ingestion.  You will be prepared to treat a variety of physical and mental conditions, make Body Care treatments, formulate delightful aromatherapy blends.  Finally, with this knowledge of aromatherapy, you will be able to promote good health and beauty for family, friends and clients.  Course follows Aromader Educational Guidelines.

  • The basics of botany (specifically taxonomy)
  • Properties of essential oils within a holistic and clinical framework
  • Methods of extraction
  • Organic chemistry
  • Diluents such as vegetable oils and other carrier bases
  • Blending techniques
  • Methods of application (inhalation, diffusion, topical, optional: internal)
  • Safety and Aromatherapy (including dermal, respiratory and internal use)
  • Consultation and client education program design
  • The basics of business development
  • Legal and ethical issues (include a copy of the Aromader Code of Ethics for students)

Required Standards of Education/Training

1.1 Schools and Educators wishing to comply with Aromader’s Standards of Aromatherapy Training must provide a minimum of two hundred (200) hours of training and practical tuition in the fields of aromatherapy and essential oil studies and anatomy and physiology.

1.2 According to the standards approved and adopted by the Council, Aromatherapy and Essential oil studies should comprise of the following core curriculum requirements:

  • History and Modern Development
  • The basics of botany (specifically taxonomy)
  • Properties of essential oils within a holistic and clinical framework
  • Methods of extraction
  • Organic chemistry
  • Diluents such as vegetable oils and other carrier bases
  • Blending techniques
  • Methods of application (inhalation, diffusion, topical, optional: internal)
  • Safety and Aromatherapy (including dermal, respiratory and internal use)
  • Consultation and client education program design
  • The basics of business development
  • Legal and ethical issues (include a copy of the Aromader Code of Ethics for students)

  • The Respiratory System
  • The Olfactory System
  • The Integumentary System
  • The Circulatory System
  • The Reproductive System
  • The Musculoskeletal System
  • The Lymphatic/Immune System
  • The Endocrine and Nervous System
  • The Urinary System
  • The Digestive System

Graduating students should be knowledgeable in the structure and function of all the major systems of the human body, together with the clinical science of at least five (5) common ailments of each system. Students entering an aromatherapy program with a degree in health related fields (e.g., nurses, massage therapists, doctors) may test out or be exempt from the anatomy and physiology section only in relation to that part of the training which goes over the structure and function of each system. Pre-existing health professionals are still required to complete training in the application of essential oils to each system and the effect of essential oils on a variety of common ailments.

Any exemption of the anatomy and physiology portion of training should only be allowed when the request for exemption is fully supported by relevant documentation.

Required elements for student graduation based upon approved standards in aromatherapy education

2.1 Student must complete a 5-10 page research paper (pertaining to an aromatherapy topic).

2.2 Student must complete a minimum of 10 case studies.

2.3 Student must sit and pass examination offered by school.

2.4 Student must study a minimum of 25-30 essential oil profiles in addition to required Level I essential oils

Personalized attention is given to each student.

Description of Homemade Aromatherapy

Ms Bilgin and Ms Nurel both bring 10 years of experience and personal research in the practice of Aromatherapy.

Primary purpose of Homemade Aromaterapi is to communicate the priceless effects of scents on our body, mind and soul and to offer and present them for all to benefit.

It demonstrates commitment to provide the highest quality aromatherapy education and seminars to those who seek their education and training.

Asli Bilgin is the founder of Home Made Aromatherapy, the first Aromatherapy company in Turkey to use aromatherapy (since 2010).  She is the Board member of the Turkish Aromatherapy Association (Aromader www.aromader.com)

All her additive-free and non-chemically processed products are produced in our own laboratories and ateliers, using cold pressed carrier oils, 100% pure essential oils, hydrolates (rose and lavander waters), plants picked correctly at the right time and 100% cotton fabrics.

Hulya Nurel is principal tutor of the Aromatherapy Studies Course – Practitioner. At the same time, the director of the Yeditepe University Cosmetics Research and Development department in Turkey. Ms Nurel is a biochemist and holds a master of Business Administration. While studying for Aromatherapy she formed the Endorphina Herbal Academy where she grew,  extracted and made her own products and formulas for personal care.

She instructor in the use of herbs and essential oils by both Institute of the Aromatherapy Course and seminars in the United States. She passed three sections of Jeanne Rose’s Herbal studies and Aromatherapy Course. She grows the plants, extracted them and has her own formulations. Nurel has US patented Formula for the oromucosal and topical wounds.
