Natural Cleaning

The air we breathe is as vital to our health as the foods we consume and the products we use on our skin. Since the negative effects of inhaling chemicals don’t always become apparent in the short-term, it is crucial that we are wary of their potential long-term effects on our blood and lungs. We need to always make sure to use candles, room sprays, fragrances and cleaning products made with natural ingredients. Using products with artificial additives can further disrupt our hormonal balance.

Using products with chemical ingredients in cleaning cutlery, dishes and surfaces on which we cut our food increases our risk of contact with harmful substances. Instead, we recommend using natural products like our Lavender Castile Soap when washing dishes by hand. When using a dishwasher to clean your kitchenware, simply pour 1 cup of Lavender Cleaning Vinegar and a few drops of Lemon Essential Oil into the detergent dispenser and use Unrefined Rock Salt Crystals to fill the salt dispenser. The Lemon Essential Oil will not only make your dishes shine but will also help keep your dishwasher smelling great. You can use our Oregano or Lavender Cleaning Vinegars to clean all surfaces in your kitchen.

Our Oregano Cleaning Vinegar is made with pure oregano water acquired from Origanum Vulgare Essential Oil, which contains 75,7% Carvacrol and has antiviral properties, making it a natural and effective surface disinfectant. To clean wood flooring and tiles, simply mix one tablespoon of our fragrant Lemon Eucalyptus Soft Soap in a bucket of lukewarm water and let it work its magic. Thanks to their great scents and antiseptic properties, essential oils extracted from Lemon, Orange, Tea Tree, Lemongrass, Cedarwood, Lavandin and Eucalyptus plants are some of our favorite ingredients to use in our natural cleaning products.

Instead of using a fabric softener, consider using a cup of Lavender Cleaning Vinegar mixed with 5-6 drops of Lemon, Lavender or Geranium Essential Oil to get your clothes feeling softer and smelling great in a natural way. If you’re using a dryer, applying a few drops of an essential oil of your choice on a small piece of cloth and chucking it in with the rest of your clothes will make them smell even better.

You can also make your own cleaning products at home using the Baking Soda, Washing Soda and Borax we offer. To find out more about creating your own natural detergents, surface sanitizers and glass cleaners, join our monthly Do It Yourself - Natural Cleaning online workshop led by Yıldız Kurt.
